2027 Corvette Grand Sport

March 26th, 2026 - Chevrolet is reviving one of Corvette’s most iconic names with the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport, and they are also launching a new trim level, the Grand Sport X. Together, these models combine heritage-inspired design with a next-generation 6.7L LS6 V8 engine, delivering more torque than any previous naturally aspirated Corvette V8.

Originally introduced in the early 1960s as a lightweight race car, the Grand Sport name has long represented track-focused performance and distinctive styling. The 2027 lineup continues that legacy, blending classic Corvette character with modern engineering, everyday usability, and advanced technology.

Next-Generation LS6 V8 Engine

At the core of both models is Chevrolet’s new 6.7L LS6 V8, now standard across the Corvette lineup, including the Stingray. This naturally aspirated engine delivers 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque, featuring increased displacement, a 13.0:1 compression ratio, and enhanced airflow for stronger performance throughout the rev range. Power is sent through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Corvette Grand Sport: Focused Rear-Wheel Drive Performance
The Grand Sport remains true to its heritage with rear-wheel drive and an emphasis on driver connection. It comes equipped with standard Magnetic Ride Control, all-season performance tires, and a finely tuned suspension that balances everyday comfort with dynamic capability.

Available performance packages further elevate its track potential:

  • Z52 Sport Package: Firmer suspension tuning, summer tires, and upgraded braking system
  • Z52 Track Package: Carbon-ceramic brakes, track-focused chassis tuning, aerodynamic upgrades, and high-performance tires

Corvette Grand Sport X: Electrified All-Wheel Drive Power

The Grand Sport X adds an electrified all-wheel-drive system, pairing the LS6 V8 with a front-mounted electric motor. Together, they generate a combined 721 horsepower, delivering instant torque to the front wheels for enhanced acceleration and improved traction.

Drivers can tailor performance through selectable drive modes, including:

  • Endurance Mode for consistent performance during extended track sessions
  • Qualifying Mode for peak lap-time capability
  • Push-to-Pass for immediate, on-demand power bursts

The system also enables a limited electric-only mode, allowing for quiet, low-speed driving when needed.

Design and Heritage

The 2027 Grand Sport models continue the tradition of distinctive design, featuring bold striping and signature hash marks—now repositioned to complement the Corvette’s mid-engine proportions. A range of new and heritage-inspired colors, including Admiral Blue Metallic, pays tribute to the brand’s racing legacy.

A special Launch Edition debuts with a unique Santorini Blue interior accented in red, along with exclusive detailing that delivers a more personalized, premium feel.

Production

The 2027 Corvette lineup, including Stingray and Grand Sport models, will be assembled at GM’s Bowling Green facility, with engine production based in Flint, Michigan. Production is expected to begin this summer.
